Haunted Night of Destruction for our finale race for the season at Irwindale Speedway.
We ran the 6 corner Kidney Bean course. The car wasn’t rotating very well during practice, but after some adjustments it felt much better for qualifying.
We found something with those adjustments that allowed us to put together a track record qualifying run. Race control decided to run the race heads up with no inversion, putting us on the pole with Mike McIntyre sitting next to me on the outside. It was the coolest feeling being on the front row with my teammate taking the green.
After leading the pack from the start the car was feeling really good, maybe due to the cooler weather or those adjustments we made. After a few laps Argo was at our back bumper trying to challenge us for the lead. With that getting to my head, I had to calmly tell myself to not overdrive the car. All and all we were able to hold onto the lead for the 30 laps allowing us to finish P1.
We had a really great season and winning the Irwindale track championships for the 3rd time, we could not of done it without all of our Great Partners. (not in any particular order).
